Noritsugu Oda’s collection can be seen in two galleries.

HIGASHIKAWA CULTURE AND ARTS EXCHANGE CENTER,
HIGASHIKAWA

CHAIRS GALLERY is located in one of the buildings in Kuraimu, a historic cultural complex located in renovated 19th-century red-brick warehouses. A permanent exhibition of the Oda Collection is run by the Asahikawa Design Association. Located just an 8-minute walk to the east of Asahikawa Station, the facility also contains a restaurant serving local beer and a free space that can be used for cultural activities.

This complex was opened in autumn 2016 in what used to be the Higashikawa Elementary School building. Works with a connection to Higashikawa are exhibited in two galleries, including a permanent exhibition featuring themed collections of chairs and other home items selected from the Oda Collection by Noritsugu Oda himself. With a café and a library corner with books about the Daisetsuzan mountains too, this complex is a favorite spot among students and other locals.
