Life with Chairs

Life with Chairs — 椅子と人生 — メインビジュアル

The timing of acquiring a chair in life comes along with various turning points and opportunities. From the baby chair that supports an infant, to the study chair during school years, the dining chairs and sofas chosen as the family grows, and the easy chair in old age, the types and roles of chairs change along with life. A chair is not just a tool to support the body; it is the “most familiar furniture” that weaves memories of life and connections with others, serving as a place to spend enjoyable time with family and friends, and sometimes a quiet place to be alone. In this exhibition, we will introduce various chairs suited to different life scenes, along with beautiful everyday items that accompany life, from childhood through to independence, family life, and old age. We hope you will feel the comfort and beauty brought by life design through the diverse moments of life.
