The reasons why certain works are called masterpieces include their functionality, structural durability, productivity, and outstanding design. Among these, design plays a crucial role in forming the first impression. In the Oda Collection, which gathers masterpieces from around the world, there are designs believed to have drawn inspiration from a variety of sources. Inspirations come from people’s daily lives, nature, literature, music, philosophy, chemistry, and more. Designers transform the hints and challenges they encounter in these areas into unique designs through their sensitivity, experience, and creative expression.
This exhibition showcases global masterpieces where the sources of inspiration are reflected in the names or shapes of the works. We hope you will enjoy discovering the inspirations behind these designs, stylized by the sensibilities of their creators, and experience the charm of design.
